About

I am a warm and caring relationship specialist. I will join you as we explore the complicated elements of your life that evoke feelings of worry, anger, sadness, and joy. I am sensitive to the influences of our changing and increasingly complex world on generational norms and values. I can help you make desired changes in your important relationships with significant others, family, friends, and colleagues. I can help you recognize your own strengths.

My approach is strength-based and solution-focused, and incorporates attention to systemic influences and issues of power and diversity. My theoretical orientation is based in Narrative, Solution-Focused, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, with additional tools and resources drawn from CBT and the work of John Gottman as needed. I respect my clients as the experts in their own lives, and look for opportunities to use curiosity and creativity to explore what is constraining and identify options for change.

I am a graduate of the Couple and Family Therapy Program at the University of Guelph. It’s hard to believe that I began working with my first clients 20 years ago, it seems like just yesterday! As a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT), and a Clinical Fellow with the American and Ontario Associations for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT/OAMFT), I uphold a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethics in my practice.
